Service Description

Decorate pre-cut felt flags with patchwork fabric flowers. Choose your fabrics from a big pile of pretty fabric scraps and offcuts. The flowers are hand sewn (english paper piecing patchwork) around paper templates and hand appliqued onto the felt flags. I will make the felt flags prior to the class - all in neutral colours so they are ready to decorate. All templates and papers and materials are provided. You'll learn thread basting, patchwork stitching and basic applique techniques. Once the flags are all decorated we'll stitch the edges and thread them onto ribbons, ready for hanging. A simple project that is suitable for beginners and gives excellent results. All our classes are small (upto 6 people) We have a lovely table & comfy chairs in our shop especially for classes (the shop isn't open to the public when we hold classes). We provide teas/coffees and simple homemade cake - if you have any food/drink requirements please let us know asap. We have plenty of free parking and a toilet. We have materials galore and all the basic tools you will need - if you have your own favourite tools please bring them with you (I am a bit picky about scissors, so I'd always take my own!) Sewing Machine: please note some classes require you to bring your own sewing machine...we don't currently have machines to loan out so only book if you can bring your machine. If your class is a 2 or 4 day class you are able to leave your machine in the classroom until the next class if you wish. ALL DAY CLASSES please bring a packed lunch with you - we will break for a quick lunch (30 minutes or so) so please bring something with you - we have cake and refreshments so you won't go hungry, but we are unable to cater a lunch for everyone.
